The Viral Menace –
This was one true beast. They were only, and if, nothing short of the word. Despite all pronouns in the world, one could give it no gender, or even an apt description.
The internet itself wasn’t vast enough to confine this creation.
Wether the rest of the world, or even the darkest mind, could even let it come to rest there either.
Those who looked deep into the piercing eyes it held, long suffered from tormented thoughts, along with a deeper eagerness to commit suicide.
For the thing you see is, this beast lurked inside all of us, waiting for just the right moment to sweep out from the shadows of our innermost thoughts.
When I first made company with this character, it’s safe to say, I may well have been at my lowest point in life.
Regardless of all of this, I was happy to welcome it through an open gate, and try threaten itself with my loving nature.
Thinking I could turn their heart to the light, at first I preached only of the good things life had to offer, while it did narcotics and speaking or should I say ranting on negativity and decay.
If for nothing else I had to give this abhorrence a name. I went for A Lack of Colour or Colour for short. This was far from a reasonable description of such.
All Colour could emanate was manipulation, despair and hate.
Everything this thing spoke of bore a negative tone. Nothing I could elaborate to it had any chance or changing the resolve it carried.
Being the sort of person I’ve been raised, and conditioned myself to become, I knew this would be a testing battle.
For you see, the first thing Colour would do, is beat you down until you licked your wounds.
Once you were doing so, Colour would attempt to destroy your self confidence, ruin your ego, leaving you an hysterical mess.
Finally you realised this could only be a continuous struggle, Colour then turned to your insecurities, hoping if for nothing to turn you insane.

But before I let this dwell on the depressing side, I best let you realise, Colour is inside us all.
We can’t hide from this as such.
Colour is the thing which draws us from slumber, allows us to rest our body after a long day, along with filling all the moments in between with love.
For you see without Colour there would be no darkness.
The flowers would never blossom, we would live in complete misery, never knowing the true meaning of happiness.
Eventually you learn to acknowledge and tolerate what I’ve briefly spoken of.
If you fail to you’ll always dwell on your mistakes in the past, only look back in pain, not to the future with the brightest optimism.
Don’t be hurt by Colour, scared, or ever give up on your beliefs.
In all of us this pain lurks, don’t become fixated, and always hope tomorrow will bring a day filled with pleasure.
Never be scared of Colour.
